TypeKey + Paypal = DropCash

DropCash is an excellent combination of web services. TypeKey users can organize fund-raising campaigns which accept PayPal payments. DropCash provides a convenient campaign url which displays a running tally and comments. Spotters: Anil Dash and Andy Baio.

RSS Buffer and Transformer

Leslie Michael Orchard has posted some details about his latest RSS aggregator: dbagg3. Written in Python, dbagg3 speaks Atom on the client end, storing the feed entries in a relational db. Atom API provides access these entries. At the tail end of this train is an XSLT processor service. Very nice!

These are the sorts of tricks I was looking forward to when I started thinking about things like a universal blog transfer format and rose-colored glasses. XSLT used like this could just as easily produce a blog or RSS 2.0 content. Source: 0xDECAFBAD

Annoyed by Spivak's Meme Propagation Test

Nova Spivak has injected a meme propagation test into the blogosphere. Call me a contrarian, but I am annoyed. For one, I don't look forward to sifting though endless instances of this nasty meme over the next few days.

Other than answering the questions below, please do not alter the information, layout or format of this post in order to preserve the integrity of the data in this experiment (this will make it easier for searchers and automated bots to find and analyze the results later). Source.
I strongly agree with many of Nova Spivak's ideas, but meme propagation tests such as this one are just plain silly. Certainly meme "instance data" for any given number of subjects could be had (and the propagation effect investigated) without encouraging thousands of people to post (and format their post) in a herd-like manner.
